Home Birth Midwifery CareWe provide home birth midwifery services within Augusta County, VA! By choosing to receive prenatal, birth, and postpartum care with Queen City Birth Services, you will receive top quality midwifery care at an affordable fee.
Home birth is for low-risk pregnancies only, and has many benefits. Clients can give brith in the comfort of their own familiar surroundings, and avoid a car ride in labor. Families do most of the prep work--gathering supplies, providing a clean space, doing laundry--and the midwife comes to you during your labor. We even have a portable birth pool that you can borrow (with deposit). The fee for home birth is $4500, and clients need to discuss the potential with their midwife by the beginning of their 3rd trimester in order to make necessary arrangements. Homebirth candidates must be within 30 minutes of a hospital w/maternity care, and must not have any additional risk factors. Prenatal care takes place at the brith center clinic, and the postpartum follow up care is the same as clients that birth at the birth center (first visit in your home, followed by clinic visits weeks 2, 4, 6). |
